Snip

There is a tornado watch outside and it is POURING rain, so I guess I am not going to get groceries today like I intended??

Fine with me. Going to the store, especially with an infant, is my idea of torture anyway :)

This sudden opening in my schedule has given me some time to ask some help from my ladyfriends! No discrimination, dudes. If you have opinions, let them be heard.

So. I have been growing my hair out now for about 2-ish years. It has kind of reached a point where it isn't getting any longer, and I just feel so blah. Jonah loves to grab, pull, rip, etc. my hair, and I am getting really tired of wearing it in a bun EVERY. DAY. Also, the sudden post-pregnancy migration of all of the hair on my head to everywhere else except my head (namely, clothing, sheets, baby, bathroom floor, shower, comb, in my food) in clumps is just really making for a sad, flat-haired, and balding lady.

I am going to see my stylist on Friday, and am seriously contemplating doing a major chop, but it has been so long since it has been short that I have no idea what to do. I need help! These are some ideas that I found... I want it to still be long enough to pull back if I need to. I also don't want to look too "cute." Been there, done that. I am twenty-five and a mom. Have at it! :)

Option 1:

I have loved Katharine McPhee's hair on Smash. Couldn't imbed photo, but here is a link.

Option 2:

Option 3:

Option 4:

Long bob-ish type cut to wear wavy or straight (kind of similar to option 2)

For reference, here it is right now:

I will probably color it somehow eventually, but I need to ease into it with the initial snipping. Thanks, everyone!

Borderline inappropriate, sorry. Oh, that Buddha belly!

That face. Be still my heart!

4 Months

It's so hard to believe that our little man is (over) 4 months already! The first month or two kind of seemed to drag because of sleep deprivation, but lately the time has been FLYING. It is so bittersweet... I love to see him grow and learn new things, but every time I hold him or feed him I just tell myself, "Remember this.. Remember this.." because I know this small and still kind of helpless stage is so fleeting.

Jonah is getting big! At his 16 week appointment, he was 25 1/2 inches (80th percentile) and 13 pounds, 14 ounces (40th percentile). He is wearing 6 month clothes. We have been working a lot on tummy time, and he is getting great at it. Every morning when he wakes up, I hear him cooing and jabbering to himself; when one of us goes in to get him, he picks his head up and smiles so big. Precious.

He has rolled over a couple of times from tummy to back in his sleep and during play time, but it is still not a regular thing. He keeps trying and trying to go from back to front, but he is still struggling with that one a little bit :) He is doing really well at holding his toys and sticking them in his mouth. Actually, sticking EVERYTHING in his mouth. We have a thumbsucker on our hands, and can even hear him doing it in his sleep from the other room sometimes. He smiles and laughs, but only if you work really hard for it. Dad is good at getting giggles out of him!

He is also already showing his little personality, and it is hilarious. I think we have a very stubborn and strong-willed child on our hands. Oh no. He is sleeping great, for the most part, so he still isn't eating solid foods, yet. We just love this cutie guy!

January Update

Oh my, where to begin. I have so many pictures to post from the past month and a half. We took our trip to North Carolina to visit the Biltmore Estate, went home to UT and AZ for Christmas, bought a new (to us) car, and had many other fun adventures.

Probably the biggest news we have is that we are moving back to the WEST! We were supposed to move to Nashville next month for another project with URS (the company Jordan works for), but we just felt like we needed a change from the bouncing around all over. We were going to just head to Utah for a little while until he found work, but thankfully, he was offered another position working with his cousin on a start-up project. Soooo....

We are going to Arizona!

It is so funny that we will be ending up there, at least for a while, since it's where I'm from and I know my family has been anxiously awaiting the day we are able to come back (let's be honest... they mostly just care that Jonah is there). We are a little bummed that we won't be able to go to Utah... it would be awesome to be around our family there and give the little man some cousins to rough house with :) Plus, nowhere can beat summer time in that place! However, we are SO excited to be around baby's grandparents, uncle, great-grandparents, and great aunt! It will be a blast.

There's a lot to do before we leave next month, and we will be making a cross-country road trip with a baby. Heaven help us. Also, I obviously need to start getting all bronzed and ripped since it will be swimming weather in, like, February ;) Har dee har

I will slowly be posting some pictures and updates, so check back soon!
